Triathlon with the Tri-TANs

August 8, 5:00 PM --> PRE-REGISTRATION

Pre-registration has always been an integral part of the Triathlon to avoid overcrowding on the day of the event. We shared this task with several other volunteers as well as with fellow amazing racers, the Mother and Daughter Green Team and Rayann of the Justice League.






















August 9, 6:15 AM --> TRIATHLON DAY

It was a cold 65 degrees outside that very morning. We were still stationed at the pre-registration area checking IDs with Rhonda. Registration is soon to be closed and the race is about to start. Good thing the temperature has warmed up a bit, but it is really quite cold still. Brrrrr....

8:30 AM --> First Leg : SWIMMING

9:00 AM --> Getting ready for the second relay

Just when we were about to go to the second part of the relay, we ran ito Mary Lou Slattery (volunteer coordinator for the Triathlon). She said that she would suddenly be needing help at traffic. One volunteer did not show up and they needed additional people in a certain area.


9:15 AM --> TRAFFIC CONTROL

When we arrived, Officer Jason and Theresa has already started directing traffic at a 4-way STOP sign. Jonathan immediately jumped in to help and Cim was in charge of the radio. Hey, I think we just saw the last biker breezed past us. Good!Let's hurry back to Marina to get into our bikes. We need to catch up!

10:00 AM --> Second Leg : BIKING

Look who we got here! There's The Local Drafts, Damsels in Success, Matt of Husband and Wife Team, and Team IBC. Ok enough with this, we still have a race to finish here. Time to go running!

11:30 AM --> Final Leg : RUNNING

There it is!!! The finish line..... Almost there, almost there, almost....

Aaaaaaaand.... We made it!

The Return of the Tri-TANs wants to congratulate everyone who were part of the Triathlon, especially to our friends Barbara Salee and Christy Fear. As a special mention, we would like to applaud Chris Donelly for his spirit and enthusiasm. He was the last one to cross the finish line.
