Come join us as we take a stroll at the park. While we are here, allow us to tell you what this place is all about....

This is where you can see Small kids......
This is where you can see Small kids......
and Big kids at play.....The Freedom Field Park is very special and unique for it was designed so that all children, able-bodied and with special needs alike, can altogether enjoy and play independently. Adults who are physically challenged can also play side by side with their kids or grandkids. There are independent play panels available and ramps are also accesible to get up in the playground (Picture below is courtesy of Freedom Field website)
This is what a typical ROTT day off is like so thanks for spending it with us. We hope to see all of you again soon.
State of the City Speech
January, 2005
“There is no doubt that children with challenges have the right to
experience the same joy and development opportunities as do their
able peers. An all inclusive playground at Blackwell Park will give
these special and precious children memories they will long remember.
A place where they can laugh and play and build new levels of
confidence and freedom. The City, the departments of Park and
Recreation and CommUNITY Development and B.C.S.C. have
partnered with the Columbus Service League to meet this need.”
– Mayor Fred Armstrong, Columbus, Indiana
