After the seminar, what have we learned?
The truth is, no matter what role we perform in our lives, no matter how big or small, we are all leaders in our own right. We tried to think of ways of how we can exemplify what we learned from John in our personal life. We realized that we don't have to look very far, 'coz it's actually in everything that we do.
Like in volunteering for example, a task which SEEMS to be simple, but yet if we don't take charge and organize ourselves, what you do can end up in a big mess and affect the rest of the event somehow.
Below, you can see us volunteering for the Softball Pitch World Series (one was from this year and the other one from last year). We were supposed to make sure that only coaches and players get to take sodas from the ice bin. We also had to make sure that supply of beverages don't run out. Believe you me, it can be pretty crazy especially when people come all at once.
I bet same thing goes with parenthood. Some days you need to stretch your patience a bit (the lover = connects, feels, and appreciates) and find ways to make things better (the Warrior = takes action).
It entails bringing out the best in him, being sensitive to what he really wants and enjoys while knowing your own limitations (The Magician = contains, assesses, and recommends).
We will do everything in our power to teach and raise him according to what we know is right, and just hope and pray that one day he will become a person with good judgement and morals. Then we can proudly say, "Dang! We did a pretty good job." (The Sovereign = initiates, guides, and decides)
This is the map of our inner advisors (Please click on image to view it larger). It's simply telling us not to overdo or underdo things. Everything should be juuuust about right in the middle. We couldn't agree more, but in reality, it's truly easier said than done.
