Ron Arnold is currently the President of the Columbus Kiwanis Club. We decided to add this segment in the blog when we coincidentally ran into him 3 days after the volunteering task at Kiwanis during the 4H fair. It was during the World Series volunteer picnic meeting at the Donner Park Shelter House and he was the one who even first saw and approached us. With all the volunteers who helped during the fair, we were quite surprised that he remembered us at all. (also since his work was in the kitchen and ours was mostly outside)
We began chatting and found quite a few things about him. Aside from the Kiwanis Club, he is also very active in other charity related institutions. He was also a cartoonist and once upon a time had Jim Davis (remember Garfield?) as his employee (how cool is that?!!). He showed us the plaque posted at the wall of the Shelter House, which narrated shortly his part in the revival of the Donner Park Variety show (created 1926). Please click the image on the left to view the full content of the plaque.
